There’s never been a better time to start riding your bike – Sky Ride is back and this year it’s bigger than ever.
British Cycling and Sky have confirmed 5 host cities in Yorkshire are part of this summer’s packed national programme of 15 Sky Ride big bike events.
Sky Ride is a wonderful festival style celebration of all things cycling, whether you ride for fun, fitness or commute to work regularly, these big events are a great way for friends and family to get together, cycle freely through your city and see it from a whole new perspective.
As the Tour de France returns to the UK for three stages including the hotly anticipated Grand Depart in Leeds on 5 July, you can now do more than just watch the Tour in Yorkshire. Get on your bike at one of these Sky Ride events:
Leeds – Sunday 15th June
Sheffield – Sunday 10th August
Hull – Sunday 17th August
York – Sunday 14th September
Bradford – Sunday 28th September
With an awesome traffic-free route to ride at every event and loads of free things to do both on and off the bike, Sky Ride is a great family day out. The Bike Café will be refuelling riders, while the brand new ‘Sensory Tunnel’ and ‘Tricks & Tunes’ area will create a real festival atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.
