Regional Competition Administrator Covering British Cycling Yorkshire Region

With a successful competition programme, the Yorkshire region of British Cycling is responsible for the coordination and development of the cycling events programme across the county. Within the region there is a full calendar of events and a network of affiliated cycling clubs and applications are being invited from interested parties to deliver a contract for services to provide regional competition administration to support the operations of this region.
The Role
Although largely concerned with the co-ordination of the road, circuit and track racing calendar and the approval of events including the issuing of race permits. The increase in competition by other cycling disciplines and youth racing requires the Regional Competition Administrator to be well linked across all competitive cycling, including Sportives and other recreational events that may have an impact on the calendar.
The RCA is responsible to the Yorkshire Regional Board and will be expected to work closely with the Regional Events Officer and Treasurer for co-ordination and reconciliation of race levies respectively. Other key relationships are with the British Cycling Regional Development Manager, race organisers, Commissaires and judges. Close relationships will need to be developed with Police, Highway Authorities and, maybe, other such public bodies.
The role calls for reports to be provided to the Regional Events Workgroup and so regular attendance at the Workgroup and other regional meetings as identified from time to time is essential. The post will be on a part time basis for two years from 1st January 2020.
Interested?
Applicants will need to have sound administrative and negotiation skills. The role will involve the development and maintenance of Excel spreadsheets to programme and co-ordinate activity and so a working knowledge of Windows Office systems is required.
Applicants must maintain British Cycling membership. He/she should also reside within and be able to travel to any part of the British Cycling Yorkshire Region in order to perform their duties. Previous post holders are welcome to apply. The successful applicant will be contracted by the Region for their services and the role attracts a fee of £4,000 per annum and additional reasonable expenses will also be paid as required.
