This year Loughborough will host The UK School Games between the 3rd and 5th September.A team from Yorkshire will be selected to represent the region at the event (note Yorkshire
must be the region specified on your Racing Licence). The team will travel to the event on Thursday 2nd September.
Backed by the Youth Sports Trust and The National Lottery, The UK School Games is effectively a youth Olympic Games. It includes opening and closing ceremonies with around 2,500 Athletes staying together in an Athletes Village and competing for their regions across 12 Olympic Sports. The Cycling disciplines for the event will be both road and track.
The road events will take place around the Loughborough University campus with the track events at the Derby Velodrome. The team will be made up of four boys and four girls. Boys will be selected from Youth A riders only, both A and B girls will be eligible for selection (priority will be given to A girls). Additionally 2 non-travelling reserves will be selected.
