As part of the successful roll out of training for Accredited Marshals, we are running another course at Wyke Community Sports Village.
Held on Saturday 10th May at Wyke Community Sports Village Road Circuit, the 3 hour course equips volunteers with the essential skills and knowledge to safely manage traffic and support the smooth running of road races across the region. This accredited training programme covers everything from understanding the legal responsibilities of a marshal to effective communication, risk management, and event day procedures. Upon completion, marshals play a vital role in keeping riders, spectators, and other road users safe – helping to ensure the continued success and safety of British road racing.
Accredited marshals are playing a huge role in securing the future of road racing in this country by making road races safer for everyone involved; riders, the race convoy and other road users. Once qualified accredited marshals are asked to commit to marshalling at three races a year.
No prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to support grassroots cycling.
