British Cycling Yorkshire will be supporting both a boys and a girls team for the Inter-Regional Track Championships, taking place in Glasgow over the weekend of 18th–20th September.
Each team will consist of four riders:
- Open must be Youth A category
- Girls can be second-year Youth B or Youth A
The team will travel to Glasgow on Friday 18th September and return after the event on Sunday 20th September.
The competition will feature a mix of sprint and endurance events, including:
- Match Sprint
- Keirin
- Scratch Race
- Elimination
- Team Sprint
- Team Pursuit
- Madison
All costs, including entry fees, travel, accommodation and meals will be covered by British Cycling Yorkshire.
Selection Criteria
Riders will be selected by the British Cycling Yorkshire Selection Panel. A team manager and coach will be appointed for the event. Selection will be based on the following factors:
- Results & performances in omniums (participation in 3 out of 4)
- Results & performances in future sprint series
- Availability for event dates
- Ideally competed at the National Youth Track Championships
- Behaviour, discipline, general conduct & attitude
- Engagement with pathway activity
Riders will be also asked to provide a written statement to support their application.
The final selection decisions will be made by the Yorkshire Board, with input from Si Wilson (British Cycling Development Coach).
