Regional Board – Volunteers

August 18, 2023 Comments Off on Regional Board – Volunteers

Whether through the success of the Great British Cycling Team, or the incredible work we do within England at British Cycling we want to inspire the next generation and encourage as many people as possible to live an active lifestyle through safe and accessible cycling. Of course, none of this would be possible without the input and drive from our volunteers! A s part of one of England’s ten Regional Boards we are looking for people to help support cyclists and their events in your area.

We have a variety of positions across most regions available, which includes Yorkshire. You will be required to meet as a Regional Board every 6 weeks, though there may be occasion for additional meetings to fulfil various actions and responsibilities. You will need to contribute a number of hours each month depending on the position.

About you

An interest in the sport either as a spectator or as participant will be helpful. What is most important is that you have a desire to help British Cycling bring the joy of cycling to your region. We are looking for people   that will make active contributions and we would be happy to discuss this in more detail with you.

How do I apply?

If you are interested in a position, please email us at humanresources@britishcycling.org.uk with the following information:

  • Name
  • Email Address
  • Postcode
  • A couple of sentences as to why you are interested in being a volunteer.

We will then send your notice of interest to the relevant regional secretary who will contact you to talk through what positions are available in your location along with next steps and to answer any questions you might have. We will also send you an information pack on ‘being a regional board member.’

At British Cycling our culture is based upon inclusivity, positivity, and respect, centred around cycling and how we can work together to promote our sport, from grassroots to elite level.
